Well, it depends on many factors, but pretty much they boils don to those: how stable is your income, how stable are your spending, is your income bigger than your savings (are you net investor or net spender)

I have a fixed-salary job and my spending are about 60% of it. I would say that the probability of loosing a job in the next 6 months is 10%

That's mean the job is quite stable. Then I would say you should have 2m spending in cash and 10m spending in stable and liquid form like deposit or money markets account.
