Rebalancing frequency

Automated Wealth Advisors increase returns by regular rebalancing. I think the same practice should be taken into broader portfolio management. How often do you change the ration between stocks, bonds, real estate, VC, etc. in your portfolio?

Stocks and bonds - once a quarter. Real Estate - once in 5-15 years when I want to buy a new house :) Have no other exotic investments like gold or VC :)

I believe even once a quarter is too often for a long term portfolio, that would mean you don't have a strategy and overreact on any market movement. I would say once a year + on major market movement is frequent enough.
